WELCOME TO ‘THE LAWN’

Pastor Steve’s e-Devotional

1 Samuel 17:47  And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you
into our hands.

David shared these words before the battle with Goliath. I not sure if the
words were for the giant, the army opposing the children of God or maybe the group of people in the army of GOD or possibly all of the above (my personal pick). Regardless of the audience of which they all were a part of I think those words speak to me and you NOW!

If you have not been in battle lately then you have been in a world all by
yourself or under a rock. The battle for time. The battle for money. The
battle of wills (mainly if you have teenagers or kids) or just the battle to
survive! Friends, we all have battles to fight for. Most of the time we want
to battle them from within or on our own. Whatever the case may be, I can
tell the battle is on! satan (yes, I used a lower case "s") is quite a adversary. He will destroy, fragment, and dismantle anything of GOD if we let him. A person, a family, a church and yes, even a country! Have you watched the news lately?

My grandmother use to say, "In any battle are you willing to bleed for it?
If not, then don't go into the battle." Davis thought it. Moses for sure
must have thought it. Even Peter said it out loud. I guess you might say
that would be the mind set of Christ in HIS battle for us! "I am willing to
bleed and die for you." The battle for salvation and souls. Sometimes I
think we forget who's battle it really is and why we need to bleed and yes
even die for!

As we prepare for the Easter season, remember the words of David. The battle is the LORD'S! So next time you need more time, money, will or strength remember who WON the battle for you. JESUS CHRIST our Savior!

Life Out Loud,

Pastor of the "LAWN"
