FNC "E" devotional for the week of March 14th, 2010
"For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6
Do we always ask God what he thinks? He has the wisdom and knowledge that we don't, right?
I have in my office a picture which is not very pretty or even a great artistically superior painting compared to a Kincade or Windberg, but it is a picture of a man seeking counsel from Jesus. It hangs right in my view everyday as a reminder that I need to talk to Him about everything. I really try to ask Him about important issues before I do them. I usually get sideways about the little things that I deem less important for Jesus' knowledge.
Not long ago I remember having a conversation about someone sending a nasty e-mail to person that was really being difficult to them. After praying they decided not to push the send button. Good thing, because the story ended with resolution that might not have been accomplished had it happened. Godly wisdom - wish our government asked for it more. I wish our church asked for it more. I know I need to ask for it more!
Can I challenge you to really seek Godly wisdom when you do things that might have little or great consequence. Try this Easter season to really think about what God would have you do. I bet you might do some things different.
